I. Prevention of Employment Discrimination
Pursuant to Article 5 of the Employment Services Act, employers shall not discriminate against job seekers or employees on the basis of race, social class, language, ideology, religion, political affiliation, place of ancestry, place of birth, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, appearance, facial features, disability, zodiac sign, blood type, or prior trade union membership. If you experience employment discrimination, you may file a complaint with the Taipei City Government Department of Labor.

II. Key Points for Standard-Form Employment Service Contracts
Before signing a contract with a private employment service agency, please confirm that the contract includes the following: service items, content and description; fee schedule and amounts; mutual obligations and responsibilities; complaint/customer service hotline; contract termination terms and compensation for damages; and provisions for each party to retain a copy of the contract. If you find clauses that allow unilateral modification, pre-emptive disclaimers of liability, or other terms unfavorable to job seekers, please refuse to sign and report to the competent authority.

III. Anti-Fraud Awareness for Job Seekers
When job seeking, remember the “7 Don’ts”: Don’t pay money; don’t make purchases; don’t apply for credit cards; don’t sign contracts carelessly; don’t let your ID out of your sight; don’t drink beverages offered by strangers; don’t engage in illegal work. If you encounter suspicious situations — such as unusually high pay, vague job descriptions, or requests for upfront payments — immediately call the 165 Anti-Fraud Hotline or the Ministry of Labor’s toll-free service line at 0800-777-888.
